THE NORTH AND ITS WONDERS : Diégo and Nosy Be

Day 1 : Arrival in Antananarivo :
On your arrival in the capital, you are welcomed by Canal Tours and brought to your hotel.
Day 2 : Antananarivo – Diégo-Suarez :
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Diégo-Suarez (also known as Antsiranana). On arrival you are welcomed by our colleagues and brought to your hotel. In the afternoon, discover the city of Diégo-Suarez and its beautiful colonial architecture. Night at your hotel.
Day 3 : Diégo-Suarez :
Discovery of the city and its unique wonders: in the morning, we'll be on our way to the Montagne des Français ("Mountain of the French"), a splendid nature reserve with numerous caves and the possibility of spotting lemurs. Excursion to the "Three Bays" : Pigeon Bay, Dune Bay, Sakalava Bay... Night in the small village of Ramena known for its nice beach of white sand.
Day 4 : Ramena and the Emerald Sea :
Embarkment in a sailboat for a 45-minute ride to the Emerald Sea with its paradisiacal islands scattered in a lagoon of crystal-clear water and lined by magnificent beaches. Snorkeling in a maritime spectacle of fauna and flora. A delicious seafood meal awaits you.
Return to Diégo-Suarez in the late afternoon, then transfer to your hotel.
Day 5 : Diégo-Suarez – Montagne d’Ambre :
Passing through Joffreville, a refreshing former summer resort of French colonial settlers and today home to a beautiful monastery, then guided visit of the Montagne d'Ambre National Park, situated at the heart of a volcanic region of 1,475m (4,839ft) altitude and boasting 45,000 acres of tropical rainforest. The park is home to a rich world of fauna and flora. The smallest chameleon of the world Brookesia minima, the cat-like carnivore « fossa » 
Cryptoprocta ferox, and the aye-aye Daubentonia madagascariensis, are among its identified animal species, not counting the 1,020 plant species. Sacred waterfalls and several crater lakes in the middle of this green and tropical natural environment provide refreshment during the visit. Night in Joffreville.
Day 6 : Montagne d’Ambre - Ankarana :
On the road to the Ankarana National Park to discover the famous Tsingy, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A spectacular massif of lime needles and several impressive caves. Night at hotel or camping.
Day 7 : Ankarana :
Day dedicated to the discovery of the Ankarana National Park renowned for its pointed Tsingy, which are the result of erosion through rain and are made of lime.
The vegetation of the Ankarana is typical of karst plateaus with a seasonal dry forest and tropical dry climate. The flora is characterized by thorny plants such as Pachypodium rutenbergianum. Several lemur species also live here and can be observed with some luck, as well as snakes, spiders, Madagascar geckos and other animals. Night at hotel or camping.
Day 8 : Ankarana - Ankify :
On the way to Ankify, the harbour for ships to the island of Nosy Be. Night at hotel on a beautiful beach with a view on the smaller island Nosy Komba (see below).
Day 9 : Ankify – Nosy Komba :
Transfer to the Ankify port and embarkment for Nosy Komba. After a trip of only a few minutes, we will be in the heart of the «Lemur Island». Guided visit of the island (4 to 5 hours of easy walking): a fishermen's village with a very welcoming population. Discovery of local handicrafts, of which the specialities are embroidery (table-cloths, lace) and hand-made necklaces. Visit of the black lemur reserve, after which the island is named. Return to the hotel by boat.
Day 10 : Nosy Komba – Nosy Tanikely – Nosy Be :
Picnic excursion by boat towards the little volcanic island Nosy Tanikely, where a marine reserve and magnificent natural aquarium await you: colourful fish, dolphins, sea turtles…. Continuation of the journey to Nosy Be in the afternoon. Night at hotel.
Day 11 : Nosy Be :
The day is your own on Nosy Be, a paradisiacal island which is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Madagascar. A world of its own - calm, peaceful and far away from sorrows and stress.
Multiple nautical and aquatic activities are possible and can be arranged on location. Night at hotel.
Day 12 : Nosy Be :
Another day to do as you please, with numerous activities possible, like bike or motorbike excursions or a visit to the Lokobe Nature Reserve. Night at hotel.
Day 13 : Nosy Be - Antananarivo :
Transfer to Nosy Be airport for your flight to Antananarivo. Pickup at Antananarivo airport. The day is your own and a car is at your disposal, for example to visit the handicraft market of the capital for some gift shopping. Night at hotel.
Day 14: Return :
Transfer to the airport for your return flight.
End of tour.
